Guys,  I received my plane model today and it is perfect! Thanks so much.   The trouble is it made me cry. It brought back so many memories...good times, good fishing, good hunting, good friends, and even good wrecks (those you can walk or swim away from). I realized how much Alaska meant to me and how much I miss it. The remoteness, the beauty and the adventure were all there and seeing and experiencing it from the air added a dimension of it's own that not many get to enjoy. If I could cram all of my good times, adventures and memories into my Cessna I am sure it would be so over grossed it would  never get off the ground.  I don't know when I have received a present that has meant so much. I knew I wanted it but I had no idea it would affect me so. It is hard to imagine a model could represent such and important part of my life and being a gift from my sons makes it even more special. To put it in prospective, if the house were collapsing and I could grab one thing on my way out, it would be the plane.   Thanks again,and again and again.  By the way, I have started my research on the Chilkoot Trail hike. In the spring of 1957, when I was a freshman at Arizona State, a Bonanza DC-3, just like the model, hit a canyon wall just south of Prescott, Arizona. Even though the impact took off about ten feet of the left wing the plane was able to fly on into Phoenix (a testament to the strength of the DC-3). It was parked on the north side of Sky Harbor airport in Phoenix for several weeks, and I had the opportunity to get a very 'up-close' view of the damage. Sadly, I didn't have a camera with me.
